African Cup of Nations

Orange African Cup of Nations 2010 is 27 edition of the tournament. After the decision of the CAC held him Angola, and the finals last from 10 January to 31 January 2010. The tournament has traditionally had 16 teams participate. One day before the first match of the tournament, withdrew from the representation of Togo, which stated that the organizers are unable to provide them with adequate security during the tournament, after being fired upon them resulting in the bus died of his driver, an assistant coach, spokesperson, and six those involved in the representation (including two more players) were injured. On the day the tournament starts, but was informed that a team will participate in the tournament. The decision was challenged, however, the Government of Togo, and ordered the players to return home immediately, and soon players left Angola government plane. On match CAF decided to disqualify the Togo team of the tournament.  Thus, in Group B will compete for promotion only 3 teams. Will defend the title team of Egypt.

The decision on the organization of African Nations Cup 2010 was announced by the CAC 29 September 2006, the first time in the history of the CAC decision on the organization of three consecutive championships was made on the same day. The selection of the host range Mozambique, Namibia and Senegal were rejected. In the process of emergence of the owner took bids:

* Angola
* Gabon
* Libya
* Nigeria

Finally, the host was Angola.
